1. What makes you different from the competition?
StrucSure Home Warranty was co-founded by a builder with the intent of
making structural coverage affordable, flexible and easy for builders of
all sizes. We offer personalized service through our field reps and
home office. Builders may register or renew their registration, pay
the registration fees, and request home enrollment application—all online.

2. How long has your company been in business?
StrucSure Home Warranty was founded by Jerry Thompson in 1997. Jerry
Thompson has been in the home warranty business since 1985.
3. How
do I register as a new homebuilder?
Please click here to become a member.
4. I have researched other warranty companies and they require
certified financial statements, a signed personal guaranty, and a bond
as part of their application process. Do you require these items
as well?
No. At this time, StrucSure does not require those items.
5. What does your 10-year warranty cover / not cover?
The 10-year warranty covers major structural defects. Please
click here for a complete listing of
covered items. Note that our warranty does not cover cosmetic
workmanship items.
6. Does your 10-year warranty
program cover service-related problems after the house is built?
For coverage on these kinds of service-related problems,
builders can purchase our 2-10 home warranty, which will back them on
workmanship in the first year and the delivery portion of systems
through the second year.
7. What happens if a structural issue with a load-bearing
part of the home causes a failure or damage to a non-load bearing
part?
StrucSure covers the direct damages that would result from this
specific occurrence. Many of our competitors do not.
8. How does the third-party
arbitration work?
If there is a dispute between you and your buyer,
StrucSure Home Warranty will bring in a mutually-agreed upon
arbitration service to settle the dispute out of court.
9. Are your warranties
FHA approved?
StrucSure Home Warranties meet FHA, VA and HUD
warranty criteria, which in turn maximizes financing options
and reduces required inspections.
10. How much is your
warranty program?
Initial member enrollment is $495 with an annual fee of $295.
For home enrollment, StrucSure can offer competitive pricing
with both fixed and per thousand rates. Pricing is dependent on
location and volume. Contact us to
get in touch with a sales representative in your area and learn more.
11.
How much paperwork am I responsible
for as the builder (such as forms, reports, etc.)?
We've made our process the simplest in the
industry. We research your company, but do not
require extensive paperwork like financial statements or
long lists of references to become a member. For
individual home enrollment, the form is only one page,
there are no start-up fees, and faxed inspections are
acceptable.
12. What are your
inspection requirements?
StrucSure accepts faxed copies of the
inspections that you get throughout the building
process. Additional inspections may be necessary
on a case-by-case basis.
13. How accessible
are you and your corporate office if time is a factor?
Typically calls are answered in person and routed to the
appropriate regional sales representative.
Our
policy is to respond to inquiries within four hours.
14. How do you
handle claims?
If a homeowner has a workmanship claim during the first
year or a claim with the delivery portion of systems in
the first or second year, they should contact the builder
first. If the builder is unable or unwilling to respond,
homeowners should file a Notice of Complaint form (found
in their Warranty Coverage Booklet or
online). Structural claims
should be submitted directly to StrucSure Home Warranty
using a Notice of Claim form (also found in the Warranty
Coverage Booklet or online).
15. Does
StrucSure Home Warranty have solid financial and insurance
backing?
We do! Our Risk Retention Group is domiciled in
Nevada which has some of the strictest capital
requirements in the country. That means there is
sufficient financial backing to cover the costs of a
claim.
You may have heard that structural
warranties had a rocky start, and a couple of warranty
companies went out of business in the 80s and early 90s.
To make sure that we will be there for our builders down
the road, we set aside a higher percentage of every dollar
received than any company in the industry for the purpose
of covering claims.
16. I have always built
without warranty coverage. Why do I need them now?
An
insurance-backed third-party warranty is important for
builders so they aren’t legally exposed to construction
defect issues.
Without a warranty, builders face responsibility for
defects that fall within a state's implied warranty
period, which may be even longer than 10 years.
StrucSure provides third-party binding arbitration to
help both builders and buyers settle disputes out of
court. The least
expensive piece of insurance could be the piece that
saves you the most... Don't take a chance on good fortune!
17. I have been with
Brand X for several years. Why should I change?
The last thing you need is one more headache before
closing. Builders across the board have told us
that, above all, they want the process to be easy.
We listened, and we offer the simplest home enrollment
process in the industry. Our competitive pricing,
quality coverage, and stellar service are three more
reasons. But don't take our word for it...
