warranty options do you offer?
We offer 2-10 and 10-year structural home warranties
to new home builders.
What is the
difference between a 2-10 and a 10-year warranty ?
The
two-year
warranty is optional coverage which acts as a surety
program, backing the builder obligation to provide warranty
coverage on workmanship and materials for one year and
delivery portion of systems (piping, wiring and ductwork
only) for two years from the date of closing.
The
10-year warranty
covers major structural defects
(does not include cosmetic workmanship items). This
coverage begins on day one of closing and lasts for 10 years. The definition of
a major structural defect (MSD) is defined in our Warranty
Coverage Booklet. The list below represents covered
components:

Foundation systems and footings
2.
Load-bearing beams and girders
3. Lintels
4. Roof
framing members (rafters and trusses)
5. Floor
framing systems (joists and trusses)
6. Load
bearing walls
7. Load
bearing columns
8. Structural
roof sheathing (only if the Home has the
original FHA/VA financing still in effect) |

The Construction
Quality Standards in our Warranty Coverage Booklet
define the builder obligations for the two- year warranty
coverage. StrucSure Home Warranty will only assume those warranty obligations
should the builder fail to perform them. This coverage can
be added to the 10-year major structural defect (MSD)
warranty but cannot be purchased alone. Both the two-year and
the 10-year coverage options are necessary in situations where the
warranty is being used to satisfy HUD requirements.
